I Don’t Really Feel Gay….Just
Heterosexually-Challenged
In my youth, I always felt different from other guys. I was a loser at sports, cracked an “A” in Home Economics and just couldn’t get too choked up over G.I. Joe action figures. When puberty hit, I began to look at men sexually and girls as just friends. I eventually ended up in the gay life.
During my years in the gay life, I always felt different from other gays. I felt miserable after gay sex, I never liked Ru Paul very much and, when my date presented me with a rose at the end of our evening, I wanted to slide him a left hook. When I took stock of myself, I eventually left the gay life. I came to realize that I wasn’t really gay….just heterosexually-challenged.
HOW TO TELL IF YOU’RE TRULY GAY OR JUST H.C.
A. The gay man enjoys watching drag shows.
The heterosexually-challenged man watches them and says Ugh, what a drag !
B. The gay man voices his feelings as he marches, yelling WE SHALL OVERCOME !
The heterosexually-challenged man hears a little voice tug at his heart, whispering You can overcome this. You CAN overcome this.
C. The gay man becomes offended and threatened when he hears the term ex-gay.
The heterosexually-challenged man becomes attentive and hopeful when he hears the term ex-gay.
D. The gay man wants to enter into, become part of and grow old within the gay community.
The heterosexually-challenged man wants to enter into, satisfy his urge quickly and get out of the gay community as soon as possible.
E. The gay man sees homosexuality as God-ordained, totally natural, perfectly Christian and something to be celebrated.
The heterosexually-challenged man has some trouble envisioning the Disciples waving rainbow banners as a Pride rally marches down the Streets of Gold.
